Pantone shocked everyone with picking TWO colors for 2016!
For the first time ever, Pantone has chosen not one, but two hues for The Color of the Year. A soft blue that reminds you of your favorite faded jeans and a subdued elegant light pink that doesn’t at all feel like bubblegum.
Last year’s color, Marsala, was a deep wine red with brown undertones…and we were really vibing on those gorgeous burgundy tones. Despite Pantone’s announcement, we predict burgundy will still be going strong in 2016.
Especially because, as it turns out, burgundy (or Marsala) actually goes really well with with Rose Quartz and Serenity. We’re picturing Serenity blue dresses with bold deep burgundy lips. Or a sleek head-to-toe Rose Quartz midi dress and coat ensemble (a lá Kim Kardashian) with a burgundy bag that pops.
The way we see it, the color(s) of the year are pretty versatile. You can pick a favorite of the two, combine them together, or opt to keep Marsala in the mix.
Here’s our favorite Rose Quartz and Serenity dresses that are trending into the new year:
